It is a shockingly middle class sector... they really don't get much of it... the very class that used to laugh at hippies and their eco concerns as recently as the 90s... now there's money to be made, the posh boys and the conmen too (in part) have moved in and muscled the real greenies out of the way.

Wind is actually means relatively expensive energy due to requirement for backup and infrastructure, as they've found in Germany. It ain't great on many levels (also far fewer job and lower taxes too in the round than what is has replaced - that bit isn't spoken about much because people don't do the basic analysis... or don't want to).

Lots of chatter about this so thought I'd chuck in my own prediction. Hold this month... rise at following meeting... plenty of signs of sticky inflation, and I suspect we shall see signs of worse than sticky by year end. Been analysing data for the last two weeks for a new employer. This is my conclusion. Sadly, I can't share the data. Edit... just spotted this re: the USA. https://www.ft.com/content/c78cdd68-8dc5-4638-a99b-c07cd417cf9a

They haven't - it's been a bloody disaster. NATO's focus on tanks as the gamechanger has failed... Ukraine is now relying more on ground troops. Pressure is being applied for a reset... https://www.ft.com/content/0560e2fc-d9a9-417c-b5e3-bc279dfb2bb6 They've just decided to replace their defence minister... but they've "over performed"...um... laughable. https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/ukraines-zelenskiy-moves-replace-wartime-defence-minister-2023-09-03/

The Tory party had a strong neoliberal streak - the opposite of the core meaning of liberalism, in economic terms. Neoliberalism is heavily reliant on government interventionism... and if anything the government has doubled down on that... the new interventionism and so on. I sense we're in very dangerous territory, right now...
