top_dag20001
Hi, Some great useful info on here but, does anyone have any idea of where people can get the actual recorded sales price history of properties in NI? This type of information is readily available in England for free, but not NI it seems !? Has anyone ever went down to LPS to carry out a property search, and know how much it costs (if at all)? It seems ridiculous that if participants wish the market to be efficient in NI, this information isn't more readily available. Too many VIs keeping it from the people? I've gone to the LPS offices and done searches, but it's something like £5/£7 per search and you're not even guaranteed that the sale price is recorded. Transparency is not something that the VI's want. In one of the searches I did, on a street of newbuilds, the sale price for identical houses ranged from £170-£340K. This sort of information would also be very useful to to the development industry. The officials say it is because the computer system wont allow them. I simply don't believe that anymore. I am always impressed how the public are so easy to believe that developers could influence something like this.
