There is an enormous block of build-to-let flats being built on the main road by the station. Small, high-density build-to-let flats in a dormitory town 45 minutes from London by train might have made financial sense for the builder pre-pandemic, but if working from home means only commuting into London two or three days a week then they make no sense at all. I suspect they'll become social housing in a local underemployment blackspot.
