If anything it's Israel finally unshackling itself from and washing its hands of the stupidity of Western intellectual elites who have de facto forced them to pursue the ludicrous 'Two State' solution that the Palestinians have never wanted. By all accounts finding Israelis today who still support the two-state solution will likely be harder than finding unicorn teeth. October 7th was the tragic event required to finally knock sense into even the most naive happy clappy let's all hold hands together and sing Kumbayah types that existed in Israel up till October 6th. The realisation that, even with the best will in the world, you cannot live peacefully with people who, for whatever primitive bigoted religious idealogy, want to kill/destroy you. That it took so long is the biggest puzzle quite frankly. Look at what the Israelis have managed to achieve in spite of the adversity placed in their way till now. Once they get rid of the burden of trying to appease the Palestinians the sky is the limit for them. Even other, previously hardline Arab states, have finally come around to accepting the reality of Israel - with the Abraham Accords. Even the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, himself not exactly a nice guy, pragmatically said just two years ago, in so many words, to the Palestinians that Israel is a done deal and they need to get over it and move on. IF is a very big word. IF history is any guide it will fail - because of the Palestinians. The Arabs are the most disunited people there are. And don't fool yourself. China doesn't do anything for altruistic reasons. Anything China is doing will be for it's benefit and to take advantage of and use the Palestinians. And being the stupid people the Palestinians have shown themselves to be it will likely work out perfectly for China. People have been saying this since 1948. But the country has, through its own industriousness and ability to overcome adversity, turned a third world hovel into a first world nuclear power with economy and infrastructure that puts many so called wealthy and developed nations to shame. I suspect a relatively quick end/finale for this Gaza war. Sooner rather then later. Remember Israel has, true to its word, now killed 2 out of 5 of the very top Hamas people. The number 2 in Gaza just the other week. It's only a matter of time before the top dog in Gaza is killed (either by the IDF or his own people). Israel's strategy has been to go after those pulling the strings. And, by all accounts, HAMAS is now on borrowed time. Remember also that Israel has just recently finally gained full control of the border with Egypt and so cut off all smuggling routes into Gaza. Really? Washington DC is not America. Poll after poll shows that more than 75% of Americans support Israel's war in Gaza. Hardly surprising. Says nothing we don't know already about the lack of character of these people. Ex-Guardian journo. Tells me all I need to know before even reading it! Another pseudo-intellectual graduate of SOAS airhead with the naivete of a 9 year old who still believes in the sanctity, virtuousness and integrity of supra-national institutions like the U.N and the ICJ.

Don't kid yourself. Arabs have been squabbling amongst themselves and killing each other since the days of Muhammed! Arabs have made agreements like this before and all have gone up in smoke - quite literally! It's almost as if it's in their DNA. The just can't help it. the Palestinians are arguably the dumbest people on the dumbest people on the planet Absolutely. That was obvious to people like me ages ago. But what all the Palestine flaggers don't know appreciate is that ANY notion of a Palestinian state is gone - certainly for the duration of at least another human lifetime. Western nations can pronounce that they will recognise Palestine but it makes no difference now. Palestine died on October 7th! Any prospect of there ever being such a state countenanced by Israel has gone - certainly for the rest of my life. October 7th was almost certainly the last straw for de facto all Israelis, Left and Right. They've had 75 years of the Arabs refusing to peacefully coexist. October 7th was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Two words for you there. Abraham Accords. Quite right too. The Palestinians don't want it - so why should the Israelis be obliged to accept it?! Indeed. But it's the Arabs who have been driving themselves of a cliff. In 75 years they have built/created nothing. The Jews on the other hand have built an advanced prosperous society from next to nothing. We know what it looks like. It's called Israel!

It really never ceases to amaze that a country that keeps proclaiming itself the global standard bearer of democratic governance is, at its heart, so seedy and shabby in its morals and standards (i.e. its rules, funding, counting of votes, etc.) In reality their democratic system is almost Victorian in its practice/implementation compared to European countries.

Even if, for sake of argument, one fully accepts this claim, and a loaf of bread and roof over your head are equally unaffordable life is still preferable in a free market/capitalist system than in personal liberty/freedom restricted communist/socialist societies where freedom of choice on so many aspects of life are denied. If you live in a prison you'll get fed and clothed and given a roof over your head... but you wont be free. Personal freedom is priceless.

Sometimes I just don't know whether to laugh or to cry when hearing these endless neo-Orwellian 'new think'. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength and... Debt is wealth!
