  1. I like bear food but what percentage of sales now involve a mortgage? Anyway, sUpPlY AnD dEMaNd, iNNiT?!
  2. Tory GE strategy for 2024/5: 1. say "house prices have to keep rising!". 2. Labour say "House prices have to fall!" 3. Win GE.
  3. I wonder why they went for gross pay in the OP and not net? Net is surely a better indicator of remaining disposable income? A lot of replies have gone for net anyway.
  4. I wonder how successful the block will be? Is it even in our jurisdiction? Will MS just pull the products from our market? I imagine this will be mired in the courts for a while.
  5. What impact do you think this will have on UK house prices?
  6. “Down valuation” or just “valuation” as normal people call it.
  7. That’s surprisingly efficient from the LR. Shame you can’t do a radius on houseprices.io but you can do the first couple of letters of the postcode so broadly similar.
  8. Seems likely January is the best they have so 3 months lag is the best case scenario.
  9. What’s the most recent sold price data near you. On a search area I normally use (basically most of the North East apart from Teesside) the most recent sold price on Rightmove is 20 January 2023. How does your area compare? I hope this will get better and better in terms of a reduced lag with the Land Registry’s Digital Registration Service.
  10. What’s the matter with people? Just bang up the asking prices and rents, innit? Can’t go wrong with bricks and mortar and my property is my pension? I managed just fine with my £5k mortgage at 17% interest rates for a month. The younger generations just need to sacrifice like I did.
  11. 2 year fixes with no fees (to the borrower) exist though so not sure it holds up. Doubt they get more commission from the lender for a shorter fix but not impossible I suppose.
  12. That's supposed to say £160k. Not sure what happened there!
