Tory GE strategy for 2024/5: 1. say "house prices have to keep rising!". 2. Labour say "House prices have to fall!" 3. Win GE.

I wonder why they went for gross pay in the OP and not net? Net is surely a better indicator of remaining disposable income? A lot of replies have gone for net anyway.

What impact do you think this will have on UK house prices?

Most recent sold price near you / LR lag

That’s surprisingly efficient from the LR. Shame you can’t do a radius on houseprices.io but you can do the first couple of letters of the postcode so broadly similar. -
Most recent sold price near you / LR lag

Seems likely January is the best they have so 3 months lag is the best case scenario. -
What’s the most recent sold price data near you. On a search area I normally use (basically most of the North East apart from Teesside) the most recent sold price on Rightmove is 20 January 2023. How does your area compare? I hope this will get better and better in terms of a reduced lag with the Land Registry’s Digital Registration Service.

Rightmove +0.2% MoM, +1.7% YoY - April 2023

What’s the matter with people? Just bang up the asking prices and rents, innit? Can’t go wrong with bricks and mortar and my property is my pension? I managed just fine with my £5k mortgage at 17% interest rates for a month. The younger generations just need to sacrifice like I did. -
Asking Prices are Still Utterly Insane

That's supposed to say £160k. Not sure what happened there!
