Spodo Komodo
Got a letter through the door with details of the new(ish) landlord licensing scheme for Nottingham. Complete with a section explaining exactly why this WON'T lead to rent rises and the benefits for tenants. Here's the letter: Side 1 Side 2 Interestingly (or maybe not) my landlord used this as an excuse to put my rent up for the first time in three years- by about 5%. He reckoned it would cost him thousands per year. Hmm...

Spodo Komodo
A terrible business, I'm sure you'll agree! ?
jacr
It's actually a charge of £780 per property for each the license. The license is valid for 5 years. I'm sure this cost will be passed on to tenants if they can afford the price increase. I think the main reason for this is for the council to create more jobs amid the government cuts to council funding.

Spodo Komodo
For the £20 it didn't seem worth arguing! Had the EPC assessor round the other day too- hope the rating hasn't gone down or there's a big bill on the way... poor fella /s
