I have never visited, but Christchurch seems to offer: Relative peace and quiet. Warmish weather. Slow pace. Small English town atmosphere, and pleasant to the eye. Possibly low level youth disturbance in the evenings. Not many foreign immigrants. Quite good rail links. Does anybody have direct and recent experience?
