  1. What part of London, might make a trip in summer? Nothing here in the Shires. Hardly any markets and if any pricier than supermarkets.
  2. Hardly any more fruit and veg market stalls anywhere. Pre brexit/covid there were lots of sellers, could get bowls of fruit for £1 to feed the family. Now gotta use supermarkets and they have really cut down the no of fruit per bag.
  3. Surprised there is no firm offering a proper comparison that will auto put you on a tariff based on your usage. Not everyone benefits from the standard rate because of various lifestyle choices. For example: People might work during peak energy usage hours therefore should take some other type of energy package that reduces their cost at night etc
  4. The recent posts are way off topic. It used to be all about the economy (this is the most popular topic on HPC) now its diverged into politics. I remember posting some slightly off anecdotal about economy and these got moved to other topics.
  5. ironically one of the safest. I thought the job of any government was keeping it citizens safe?
  6. There will be riots on our streets if Rishi and Co manage to get a minority govt. Seems to be kicking off in Ireland of all places and NL election results were a bit surprising. I guess the Israel Hamas war doesn't seem to be helping matters. When you are robbed by the rich and become poor, have no scapegoat first thing is blaming the migrants i guess.
  7. I expect AI will take over a lot of jobs, so getting migration numbers this high is just short term thinking. Japan seems to be doing okay with replacing shop keepers with vending machines. I doubt those vending machines would last long on the UK streets however.
  8. Really? I thought Cons were inviting the brightest and best, so that means HPI. Hong Kongers have gone and bought up nearly every house near my street and thrown money at estate agents. I suspect there are many affluent people from India (given their population size) that have done the same in other areas. Of course there's illegal migration that doesn't even get on the stats so this figure could be higher (those are the ones you probably talk about)
  9. Yeah cos the tory party has been in bed with housebuilders since time began.
